PORTRAIT OF AN ANTI-HERO
As a kid, I wished I was like Gavroche: a street urchin wandering the streets of Paris, surrounded by charm and danger, completely free and unwilling to be caged.

The Little Gavroche
Inspired by the famous child character from Victor Hugo’s Les Miserables, The Little Gavroche is a reflection on freedom as a state of mind, a form of expression, and a desire to break free of the inane rules of totalitarianism, a struggle that the artist herself experienced throughout her childhood.
The sharp chromatic balance stemming from the juxtaposition of complementary colors such as enchanting, material nuances of orange and blue evokes a lyrical, liberating vision, subtly unveiling the complex psychology and human traits of Hugo’s iconic character, whose timeless gaze conveys innocence and fairness behind a mischievous facade.
